Explanation of Levels
NOTE: The following explanation of levels is a generalization. There are always exceptions to the rule. Free student evaluations can be requested. Placement in Hip Hop and Aerial Silks classes depend upon age.
Tots Program: Ages 24 to 36 months - 30-minute class - Creative Movement
Preschool Program: Ages 3 to 5 - 45-minute classes - Combination classes with Ballet and Tap or Acro option
Preschool level 1 - for ages 3-4 with no experience or promoted from tots program
Preschool level 2 - for ages 4-5 with one year experience
Primary Program: Ages 5-7 - 45-minute to 1-hour classes - Combination classes or Mini Jazz
Primary level 1 - for ages 5-6 with no experience or promoted from the preschool program
Primary level 2 - for ages 6-7 with one or more years of experience or promoted from Primary 1
Level 1: Ages 7-9 - No experience required but may have some - 45-minute to 1-hour classes
Beginner to Advanced Beginner - Combination and full genre classes offered
Level 2: Ages 9-11 - One to two years of training recommended - 45-minute to 1-hour classes
Beginner Intermediate to Intermediate - Full genre classes only
Pre-pointe is introduced at this level
Level 3: Ages 11-15 - Two or more years of training recommended - 45-minute to 1-1/2 hour classes
Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate - Full genre classes only
Pointe classes available upon passing a pointe readiness test
Level 4: Ages 12+ - Three or more years of training recommended - 45-minute to 1-1/2 hour classes
Advanced Intermediate - Full genre classes only
Pointe classes available upon passing a pointe readiness test
Level 5: Ages 12+ - Four or more years of training recommended - 1-hour to 1-1/2 hour classes
Advanced - Full genre classes only - TEACHER RECOMMENDATION only
Pointed classes available upon passing a pointe readiness test
